Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock announces the commission of “The Mapping of Countries Yet to Come”
Support this new film/music collaboration between Miwa Matreyek and Steven Ellison (Flying Lotus) set to premiere at CFAER in June 2012. Donations received between now and November 30, 2011 will be doubled through a matching grant from the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.
Miwa Matreyek is an internationally recognized animator and multi-media filmmaker. Steven Ellison is an international laptop artist, known as Flying Lotus. These multi-disciplinary Los Angeles artists will collaborate together for the first time this year to find inspiration and direct sampling of northeast Los Angeles’ imagery and sounds to create The Mapping of Countries Yet to Come, a piece that celebrates the present communities surrounding Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock. Their work will debut at Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock in June, 2012.
Who We Are
Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock provides local, innovative, and accessible arts programming. We create innovative and multicultural art education opportunites through workshops, after school programming, and arts camps. We create jobs for artists and teachers. We produce six exhibitions per year and showcase over 200 local emerging, and established artists annually in our art auction. We produce the largest free music festival in Los Angeles, the Eagle Rock Music Festival.

If we receive your tax-deductible donation between August 1-November 30, 2011 it will be doubled through a Matching Grant from the LA County Arts Commission Cultivate/Create Initiative. Your on-going support will ensure that Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock can produce more innovative programming like this in our community. Matching acknowledgement letters will be sent by LA County Arts Commission.
